Parents should keep an eye on a child’s vitamin B12 intake, a vitamin often only found in animal-derived sources like eggs and beef.B12 is produced by soil-dwelling bacteria. the only reason it’s found in animal products is because animals don’t wash their produce as assiduously as we do. if you supplement or just don’t freak out about washing your potatoes, you’ll get plenty. cows and chickens can’t synthesize it for themselves any more than we can. just let your kids eat a little dirt and all is well.
