Resting mummy in the Cemetery of Chauchilla
The ancient Nazca people were based in the Ceremonial City of Cahuachi, an ancient pilgrimage center 28 km southwest of modern Nazca. The society emerged in around 100 BCE & was active untill around 750 CE.The Shamans, a priest like figure, were very much celebrated in those ancient times and would have been left to rest with most of their expensive, worldly possessions. He had long hair and lavish clothing (what’s left of it), which signified his status in society at the time.
