Chevron Folding - Cornwall, South-West England.
There is some magnificent cliff walking in this area, particularly the 9 strenuous miles from Bude to Crackington Haven, which passes one of the world’s best examples of chevron-folding at Millook Haven. Cornwall was shaped by the Variscan oregeny during the Carboniferous period, and its rocks were tortured by tectonic forces as the Rheic Ocean finally closed and Pangea was formed. These forces are nowhere more apparent than in the Crackington Haven area and most notably on the cliffs at Millook Haven.

Thanks to our friends at Google, you can view an Archaeological Heritage Map of Ireland in Google Earth. As you visit these sites, remember that each year hundreds of irreplaceable archaeological sites are destroyed by unrestrained development, looting, the vagaries of war, and environmental changes.

life:
For decades, much of humankind progressed along two very different paths — communist and capitalist. The sworn enemies disparaged everything about each other from philosophy to diet, but were they really all that different, when it came down to basics like the kinds of buildings they lived and worked in? Judge for yourself.

Archaeology In Michigan
Hello Beautiful Followers,
I have been so very busy these past few weeks. Now that my school year is at its complement I have been working and training for said employment each day. I have realized I have failed you all on updates, information, images, links, other blogs, etc. I have been gone to remedy that.
I know that I have previously posted that I would concentrate and focus this summer on South America; however, due to my busy schedule, I have decided to concentrateon my home state of Michigan. South America is amiable yet it demands too much energy. On the other hand Michigan is more simple while simultaneously being interesting. Moreover, there is much to learn about the history and the archaeology of Michigan; both past and present.
I hope that most of you find this topic interesting and continue to support my blog. Also, any questions, or inquires about Michigan’s history, geography, sub-culture, and archaeology are welcome! I will hopefully be adding a new series of posts very soon.
Wish me luck in my prosuite to become more educated as well as pass on a lot of info to you all. Do not forget to share any and all ideas that you have on the subject.

The Michigan Archaeological Society was formed in the 1930’s for people dedicated to unearthing the past. The MAS now has numerous chapters throughout the state and hundreds of members across the country, and we would like to invite you to join us…..

The Barnes Paleo-Indian Site (20MD1), Midland County, Michigan.
The Barnes site was a small Paleo-indian site located in southern Midland County, Michigan. The Barnes site was probably a small hunting camp where spears were refurbished. The site measured only about 12 to 15 meters in diameter. The site was located on a beach ridge of an early lake that was located along the front of melting glacial ice (“proglacial Lake Warren”). The artifacts from the site are a type that dates about 10,500 years ago.
